Early Beginnings
Believing that health is not a privilege, but a basic right of every Filipino,
The Generics Pharmacy (TGP) heeded the call for cheaper medicines. In 1989, with prices of medical and pharmaceutical products soaring, TGP decided to sell generic drugs primarily to government hospitals to help less privileged Filipinos avail affordable quality medicines. In 2007, TGP tapped Francorp to engineer its franchise development and growth. In 2015, it has more than 1800 franchised branches nationwide. Among the Franchisees is Mr. Roderick P. Battung.
Summary
In May of 2009, TGP partnered with Mr. Roderick P. Battung to open the first TGP franchise in Cagayan Province with a branch located at Gonzaga St. Tuguegarao City. The goal is to make affordable generic medicine more available to a greater number of Cagayanos at the soonest possible time. Thus, another branch was opened in Camalaniugan in October.The year 2010 saw more branches being opened in Cagayan which included, Sanchez Mira, Aparri, Abulug, and Carig (Tuguegarao City).In 2011 Gonzaga was added, while the branches at Claveria and Allacapan are awaiting final documentation before being launched within the next few weeks.
2009
Seeing that the partnership is viable and profitable, TGP also gave the franchise of Nueva Vizcaya to Mr. Battung. As such, the first Nueva Vizcaya branch was opened in Solano in Oct 2009.
2010
After a few months, Bambang branch in Feb 2010 and immediately the following month Bayombong branch was launched. Being on the route going to Cagayan, a branch in Aurora, Isabela was opened in June 2010.
Meanwhile, to better manage the franchise and infuse additional capital, BBBrothers Philippines Inc. was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in March 2010. Its main office is located at #8 Delgado St. BF Resort Village, Talon Dos, Las Pinas City. From a single proprietorship, the business has been converted into a family owned corporation.
This new corporation purchased and operated in the later part of 2010 some 5 branches of The Generics Pharmacy in San Pedro, Laguna.
2011
In 2011, we are seeing the branches in Aritao and Bagabag being prepared. This will be followed by Cordon branch in 2011. In February 2011, came a new corporation named BBBrothers Laguna Inc.
2012
First quarter of 2012 another 2 new corporations were formed namely BBBrothers Visayas Inc and BBBrothers Mindanao and these corporations have operating branches in Leyte and Davao respectively.
2016
In 2016, BBBDV Gen. Mdse. started operating in Misamis Oriental followed by the opening of TGP Dimasalang branch by BBB Masbate Gen. Mdse.
With the help of our loving Father and Creator, JEHOVAH God, BBBrothers Group of Companies Inc.
has grown rapidly, and now in the process of expanding to Iligan and Lanao Del Norte. Success of the Company is also because of the efforts and cooperation of everyone - from the President & CEO down to the front liners.
